Thinking of You

I thought of you when I was lonely,
I thought of you when I was blue,
I thought of you when you were far away,
Did you know I was
(Thinking of You)

I can't remember any good times we shared,
only bad.
I can't remember any sadness when you said goodbye,
tears were in my eyes.
(Thinking of you)

You left me all alone,
You said you wouldn't be gone for long,
but you were.
Now each day, I hope and pray,
you'll stay away
(Thinking of You)

I used to watch for the mailman,
I used to listen for the phone,
I used to meet the train at the station
and spend my nights alone.
(Thinking of You)

Yes, the waiting is over
Time has set the scene
God meant me for someone else
and he meant for you to
(Think of Me)

Haiku for a Winter's Day

High Tide
Any Boundry its foe
Without sanity--breaking paths
Rushing to the shore

Low Tide
Softly, Silently
Teasing the shore with its waves
Searching for a soul

Snow Day

No matter how much a person hates cold weather, you gotta love snow. When it first falls, it is so fresh, clean and pure. Personally, I enjoy the crisp winter air as long as it's not windy combined with cold and wet snow (something Jack and I encountered on our walk home from dinner last night).

Speaking of dinner, last night we tired a new place in our neighborhood. The name of the resturant is La Mora. I had Grilled Duck and Jack had Tandoori Chicken, both were yummy. For anyone that lives in Chicago, make the trip and give it a try. During Retro on Roscoe (a yearly street fest) they serve some fabulous Sangrias.

Anyway, back to the snow day, Kegan and I went for our morning walk and he got to wear his dog boots. I get the impression that he thinks he is pretty stylin' in his boots. We returned home and watched Jack shovel the sidewalks and put down salt to keep the ice away. I was going to shovel myself but hubby came to my rescue--sigh. He's so sweet. Nothing sexier than a man with a snow shovel on a winter's day--hehe.

It appears it will snow all day. Can't wait till later when the people that still have Christmas lights up turn them on; they always look so cool against the new fallen snow.

Happy New Year

It's hard to believe that it is already 2005! Time for a whole new me. That means working out, eating right and doing more of the things I love.

I live in Chicago, the greatest city on Earth. If you have never been, too bad, you have no idea what you are missing. That is, of course, unless you live in the land of eternal sunshine and then you are not missing anything at the moment cause it is freaking cold.
